The friendship between China and Pakistan is not hidden from anyone.  There is currently a claim on social media that China has opened an 880 km long highway directly to Pakistan.  Along with this, a video is also being posted in which cars are coming on the highway which looks amazing.

A reverse image search on Google of screenshots taken from the viral video found a link to a post on the Chinese social media website ‘Weibo’ at the bottom of the results.  This post is in Chinese which translates into English making it clear that the video is of the 240 km long Yakang Expressway.

We searched Google for the keyword 'China Pakistan highway' to see if there was a road connecting China and Pakistan.  In addition to some videos in the result, a link to the Wikipedia page of karakoram Highway was found at the top.  It is also called the China-Pakistan Friendship Highway.  The 1300 km long highway passes through the Karakoram range.  This highway connects China and Pakistan.  The crop connects the Xinjiang region of China with Gilgit-Baltistan in authentic Kashmir.  The highway was completed in 1979 and opened to the public in 1986.

The Times Fact Check found in its investigation that the claim of opening an 880 km long highway between China and Pakistan is false.  The video that is being shared with this claim shows the highway being China's Yakang Expressway.
